Where venues are in Region III, and getting there
Central Luzon is a broad plain of seven provinces fanning out north of Metro Manila, and testing sites are spread across all of them. The region is well served by expressways, so travel between provinces is straightforward by land — but Aurora, tucked behind the Sierra Madre on the Pacific coast, is the exception, with a longer and more mountainous route to the central venues.
The Civil Service Commission doesn't publish a fixed list of Region IIIvenues — sites rotate between administrations depending on capacity and the schools available, and the exact venue and room are printed on each applicant's Examination Permit. When you register online you choose this region; the Commission then assigns your specific site, which may not be the city nearest your home. Your permit is the only authoritative source, so check it the moment it's issued.
Slots & registration
Given its large population and proximity to Metro Manila, Central Luzon is high-demand and slots can go quickly; register early, especially if you're in the populous Bulacan or Pampanga corridors.
Weather to plan around
The plains of Pampanga, Bulacan, and Nueva Ecija flood during heavy monsoon rains, and lahar-affected waterways near Mt. Pinatubo can swell fast. Watch advisories in the August–October peak if your venue is in a low-lying area.
Notes for Region III examinees
- Central Luzon is high-demand given its population and proximity to Metro Manila; slots can go quickly.
- Venues are spread across the seven provinces — your permit's assigned city may be a province away, so confirm it early.
- Many Region III applicants are within commuting distance of NCR but should still sit in their registered region's venue, not the metro.
Region III testing — common questions
Can a Central Luzon applicant test in Metro Manila instead?
No. You sit the exam in the region where you registered. Many Region III residents commute to NCR for work, but the Civil Service Exam is taken at your assigned Central Luzon venue, named on your permit.
