Where venues are in Region X, and getting there
Northern Mindanao runs along the Mindanao north coast and reaches inland to the highland province of Bukidnon, plus the small island of Camiguin offshore. Cagayan de Oro is the regional hub with much of the testing capacity; Camiguin applicants face a short sea crossing and interior Bukidnon applicants a longer land trip down from the plateau.
The Civil Service Commission doesn't publish a fixed list of Region Xvenues — sites rotate between administrations depending on capacity and the schools available, and the exact venue and room are printed on each applicant's Examination Permit. When you register online you choose this region; the Commission then assigns your specific site, which may not be the city nearest your home. Your permit is the only authoritative source, so check it the moment it's issued.
Slots & registration
Cagayan de Oro is a major Mindanao city and demand around it is high — register as soon as the window opens to secure a nearby slot.
Weather to plan around
The region is relatively sheltered from typhoons, but it has seen deadly flash floods (notably from Sendong) when storms do track south. Heavy rain on the coast and in Bukidnon's interior can slow travel, so watch advisories in the wet months.
Notes for Region X examinees
- Cagayan de Oro is the regional hub and hosts much of Northern Mindanao's testing capacity.
- Camiguin applicants face a short island crossing; Bukidnon applicants from the interior should plan for a longer land trip down from the plateau.

Region X testing — common questions
How do Camiguin applicants reach a testing venue?
Camiguin is a small island province with limited capacity, so applicants typically take a short ferry crossing to a mainland venue around Cagayan de Oro or another assigned site. Check your permit and plan the crossing with buffer time.
