Northern Mindanao runs along the Mindanao north coast and reaches inland to the highland province of Bukidnon, plus the small island of Camiguin offshore. Cagayan de Oro is the regional hub with much of the testing capacity; Camiguin applicants face a short sea crossing and interior Bukidnon applicants a longer land trip down from the plateau.
The Civil Service Commission doesn't publish a fixed list of Region Xvenues — sites rotate between administrations depending on capacity and the schools available, and the exact venue and room are printed on each applicant's Examination Permit. When you register online you choose this region; the Commission then assigns your specific site, which may not be the city nearest your home. Your permit is the only authoritative source, so check it the moment it's issued.
