Civil Service Exam testing centers in Region V.

The Civil Service Exam (CSE-PPT) is administered in the Bicol Region through the Civil Service Commission's field office based in Legazpi City. This page covers what applicants in Region V should know about testing in the region: where venues are typically located, how to get to them, the local weather to plan around, and how to actually prepare once your slot is confirmed.

Where venues are in Region V, and getting there

Bicol is a long mainland peninsula plus two island provinces: Catanduanes off the Pacific coast and Masbate to the south in the Visayan Sea. Testing is distributed across the six provinces, with significant capacity in Legazpi and the major Camarines Sur cities; Catanduanes and Masbate applicants face sea travel to reach a mainland venue if their island sites are limited.

The Civil Service Commission doesn't publish a fixed list of Region Vvenues — sites rotate between administrations depending on capacity and the schools available, and the exact venue and room are printed on each applicant's Examination Permit. When you register online you choose this region; the Commission then assigns your specific site, which may not be the city nearest your home. Your permit is the only authoritative source, so check it the moment it's issued.

Slots & registration

Legazpi and the Camarines Sur cities (notably Naga) carry much of the region's testing load; register early so you can secure a slot near your province rather than travelling farther.

Weather to plan around

Bicol is one of the most typhoon-exposed regions in the country. It sits directly in the eastern storm path and is battered nearly every season. Watch advisories closely and travel early; an approaching storm can shut down ferries and roads with little notice.

Notes for Region V examinees

  • ·Bicol testing is distributed across the six provinces; Catanduanes and Masbate applicants may face island travel to reach their venue.
  • ·Legazpi and major Camarines Sur cities host significant testing capacity.
  • ·Typhoon season affects Bicol heavily, so monitor weather advisories and travel early if your exam falls in the rainy months.

Region V testing — common questions

Does typhoon season affect Civil Service Exams in Bicol?+

Bicol is among the most typhoon-prone regions in the Philippines, so weather is a real exam-day factor. Monitor PAGASA advisories in the run-up to your exam and travel early, since storms can suspend ferries and block roads on short notice.
